History
Since opening its doors in August 1964, Incarnation Catholic School has been dedicated to providing a faith-filled, academically excellent Catholic education to generations of students and families in the Tampa community. The school began with a half-day kindergarten and full-day classrooms for first and second grade. As enrollment grew, so did the school, with a new grade level added each year. The first permanent school building was completed in 1965, and by 1970, Incarnation Catholic School proudly served students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade with the completion of its main academic and administrative buildings.
In 1972, Incarnation Catholic School earned full accreditation from the Florida Catholic Conference, a distinction the school continues to maintain through its unwavering commitment to academic excellence and Catholic education.
Over the years, Incarnation has continued to expand its educational offerings to meet the needs of young learners and families. A full-day Kindergarten program was introduced in 1992, followed by the launch of a PreK-4 program in 2006. In 2014, the program became a Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program, and in 2015, a PreK-3 classroom was added, completing the comprehensive early childhood program that serves students today.
Recognizing the importance of preparing students for the future, Incarnation made significant investments in educational technology between 2018 and 2020. Every student in grades three through eight received an individual iPad, interactive touchscreen displays were installed throughout the school, and digital learning platforms were integrated to enhance instruction and strengthen communication with families.
In recent years, Incarnation Catholic School has continued to grow and evolve while remaining rooted in its mission of forming disciples of Christ through faith, family, and academic excellence. A significant milestone in the school's history was its transition from a parish school to a Diocesan Catholic School, furthering its commitment to serving the broader Catholic community.
The school has also experienced numerous enhancements that enrich the educational experience for every student, including:
- The return and continued growth of a competitive athletics program featuring soccer, basketball, and track and field.
- The addition of a full-time School Resource Officer, enhancing campus safety and security.
- The implementation of the FACTS Student Information System to improve communication and streamline school operations.
- The creation of a STREAM Lab, integrating Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics through hands-on, innovative learning experiences.
- Continued curriculum enhancements, including updated English Language Arts and Science programs designed to challenge students and prepare them for future success.
- Ongoing restoration and beautification of the campus, with continued investments in classrooms, facilities, and learning environments.
Today, Incarnation Catholic School proudly builds upon more than sixty years of tradition while embracing innovation and preparing students to become faithful disciples, lifelong learners, servant leaders, and compassionate citizens. Guided by our enduring commitment to Faith, Family, and Academic Excellence, we continue to provide a nurturing environment where every child is known, valued, challenged, and inspired to discover and develop their God-given gifts.
