Reading Buddies and More

Kindergarten and Grade 3 classes meet approximately once a week. Grade 3 students help the Kindergarten students learn the alphabet through activities such as creating an alphabet book. They share literature to support learning by reading to the younger students regularly. In the photos below, the 3A students help the KA students learn to use the Accelerated Reader program to take a test on the Dr. Suess book, The Cat in the Hat.

The older students also help the younger students with activities such as making Christmas decorations and they guide them through the Stations of the Cross during Lent. The patience and kindness of the Grade 3 students for the Kindergarten students and the response of the Kindergarten students to the Grade 3 students, shows the concern and love that is shared by the students in the classes.

Prayer for the Internet

Almighty and eternal God, who created us in Thy image and bade us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful, especially in the divine person of Thy Only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we beseech Thee, that, through the intercession of Saint Isidore, Bishop and Doctor, during our journeys through the internet we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to Thee and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
